The Berlin Wall divided East and West Germany. West Berlin was democratic and East Berlin was communist. This picture shows how West Berlin was better than East Berlin. The wall represents the wall that separated these cities. People were shot if they had decided to cross the wall.
The Cuban Missile Crisis
Korea was divided by North and South at the 38th parallel. North Korea invaded South Korea, trying to unite the peninsula. This picture shows North Korean troops invading South Korea. Help is sent in and the division is kept the same as before the war.
Fall of the Berlin Wall
VIetnam is divided between North and South. North being communist and South being democratic. The North invaded the South. The US helps the South. This picture shows the North invading the South and the South fighting back. Eventually, the US stops helping and Vietnam becomes all communist.
The Space Race
US planes find missiles being built from the Soviet Union being made in Cuba. This scares the US and makes a naval blockade of Cuba. This makes the Soviet Union take out their missiles. This resolves and the USSR removes missiles from Cuba and the US removes missiles from Turkey and Italy. This picture shows the missiles that were from the Soviet Union, in Cuba.
After lots of protests, the Berlin Wall begins to be torn down. After the fall, Germany reunited and is democratic. This picture relates to the fall of the wall because it shows how everyone was reunited and happy after they had been separated for a while.
There was a competition between the two superpowers, it was called the space race. They both wanted the best space program. The Soviet Union launched the first satellite into space, called Sputnik. In response, the US put a satellite up and sent the first man to the moon. This picture shows the US's spaceship going to the moon.
