The Persian ships were too big to move around, however the Athenians ships were small enough to move smoothly around in the strait of Salamis and to trap the Persian ships. The Greeks attacked the Persians and sank 300 Persian ships. The Greeks won at the Battle of Salamis.
  • The Greek city states come together even stronger and formed the largest army yet. The Greeks fight the Persian one last time at the Battle of Plataea. With over 100,000 soldiers on each side, the Greeks defeated the Persian army. Persians no longer had any control of any Greek city states. Persia and the Greek city states eventually find peace with each other. The Persian Empire declined and weekend shortly after.
