They are being poached in The Indian Ocean, Coral Triangle, and Eastern Pacific.
There are laws to protect the Sea Turtles, but there are still many people that don't abide by them.
Sea turtles are poached for their shells, meat, and eggs.
Due to the loss of Sea Turtles Sea Grass is also starting to die off. Sea Turtles are close to the only species that eat Sea Grass. By the Sea Turtles eating the Sea Grass they keep it growing and healthy.
If Sea Grass dies off along with the Sea Turtles many animals like fish, shellfish, and crusraceans would lose their habitat, and grounds for mating.
The lose of Sea Turtles creates a chain loss of many other plants and animals.
To protect, preserve, and stop the poaching of Sea Turtles we must create more laws, create awareness, leave females that are nesting alone, and stop putting trash into the oceans.
