  • Wayne receives the newspaper and sees that an event called the Homestead act is happening in the West. Wayne hopes to get free land out of this.
  • The Homestead Act is going on in the West!
  • FREE LAND
  • In the middle of the night, it begins to snow and the family realizes they'll have to camp where they are for a while.
  • Let's go!
  • It seems these are the Appalachian Mountains. We have to go through them
  • Uh oh...
  • The family comes across the Appalachian Mountains, that they realize they have to go through.
  • It feels as if the weather is changing on us. We should settle for the night.
  • That's probably a good idea.
  • The family makes it up the mountains, but Wayne feels like the weather is changing.
  • We will have to stay put for a little while until the snow dies down.
  • You're right. We won't be able to travel.
  • Wayne and his family make it through the mountains.
  • Let's hope we don't go through that again.
  • We made it!
  • The family makes it to Oregon. They build a house, plant crops and start their new life.
  • We made it to the West!
