Storyboard Text

  • The Hunger Games
  • By Suzanne Collins Genre: Fiction
  • Setting
  • The setting is in Panem, North America, specifically in the Hunger Games Arena. It also takes place in district 12. The time is in the future.
  • Main Characters
  • The main character is Katniss Everdeen. She is brave, caring, strong, talented, and smart. She is brave because she volunteers to take her sister's place in the Hunger Games, and she doesn't completely freak out while fighting. She is caring because she cares about her sister and wants to make sure she survives and has enough to eat. She also cares a lot about Peeta Mella, and making sure he survives and is okay. Katniss is mentally strong because she makes it through the Hunger Games, even though she has to watch so many people die and has to kill others as well. She is physically strong because she gets hurt a lot throughout the Hunger Games but she stills goes hard and doesn't let an injury stop her. She is talented because she is an amazing hunter and very good with the bow and arrow. She is smart because she finds strategies along the way to help her win the Hunger Games. Another main character could be Peeta Mellark. Along with Katniss, he is brave, caring, and strong. He is also very artistic. He is brave because he does not make a huge deal when he finds out he has to be in the Hunger Games. He is caring because he cares a lot about Katniss. He is strong because even though he was injured very badly in the Hunger Games, he still stays strong and makes it through.
  • Plot
  • Katniss Everdeen is waiting at the reaping, praying for her and her sister not to be picked. And of course, who gets picked? Her sister, Primrose Everdeen. Katniss volunteers to take Prim's place in the Hunger Games, she can't let Prim go in their, she'd die immediately. The boy that was picked was named Peeta Mellark. Katniss and Peeta do many things before the Hunger Games actually starts, like interviews, the opening ceremony, and eating a very big dinner.
  • When they first enter the Games, Katniss runs as far away as she can from the other players. She teams up with another girl named Rue. Rue helps her blow up a couple of the other's (who had teamed up) food supply. Then, something terrible happens, Rue gets killed. Katniss is on her own again, until they announce that there can be two winners, as long as they are from the same district. Katniss quickly finds Peeta, who is injured very badly. Haymitch sends them food that was payed for by the sponsors, which helps them a lot. Katniss and Peeta continue to fight against the other players, not only for them, but for Prim, Rue, district 12, and their families.

  • Themes/Rating
  • One theme of the book could be.................... because ................. I rate this book a 10/10 because it was really good and interesting and was never boring. There was always something happening. Along with that, I also liked that it was placed in the future. There wasn't really anything I didn't like, because it was overall a great book. I recommend this book to anyone who like action, or books placed in the future.
