Frederick Douglass was born on a plantation in Maryland, he grew up working on them as a slave. He dreamed to someday escape the villainous hold of slavery and shine light on the slave system to expose its wicked ideals.
One day douglass made up his mind to finally escape the chains that bind him to the evil that is slavery. He gathered some fellow slaves two of them being his friends Henry and John. Together they would help each other escape to the north and be set free from the cold hearted slave system. The first step of douglasess masterful plan was to make fake documents that him and the others could use to help them escape. The documents said that they would be able to leave on vacation for the holidays, but they planned to never return.
One day while douglass, John, and Henry were working a fellow slave wanting to escape said, “Douglass we have been caught there are men here to see us!” When they were called in for breakfast, they were confronted by four constables who had come to search for evidence proving of their escape plan. When they got to Douglass they immediately took hold of him and tied his hands. Then they went to John and succeeded in tying him. Finally they got to Henry and demanded he cross his hands, he refused.
