On June 6, 1944, allied forces were sent out to go fight on Omaha beach against the Germans. Soldiers were scared for their life and are about to enter the worst war of there life knowing that they probably won't make it back. While those in front-line on the landing ships ended up dying in a matter of seconds.
MOVE UP MOVE UP!!!
Everybody lets GO!
After soldiers moved up from the landing craft, they proceeded towards the beach while being under attack by miniguns that were shot from the German bunkers.
Many soldiers while moving up were getting injured/killed. Resulting in 209,000 Allied casualties during the war. Medics were trained to stop bleeding, apply dressings, sprinkle sulfa powder on wounds as an antiseptic, and they ran into battle without any weapons, sacrificing there lives for those in need of help.
Everyone started making their way slowly to the trenches. Next stop was taking out one of the biggest threat... the bunkers or in other words the Atlantic Wall, that was wiping out most of the soldiers.
Eventually, when the soldiers made their way towards the German Bunkers, they killed all Germans near it and used flamethrowers and grenades to get rid of any inside... allowing everyone to push up.
After eliminating most of the threat, the soldiers were able to push up making the Germans fall back and even some surrender. Overwhelming the German forces in an operation that proved to be a turning point in World War II.
