  • Single-parent families are comprised of a parent/caregiver and one or more dependent children without the presence and support of a spouse or adult partner who is sharing the responsibility of parenting.
  • A nuclear family is a group of people who are united by ties of partnership and parenthood and consisting of a pair of adults and their socially recognized children.
  • An extended family is a family that extends beyond the nuclear family, consisting of parents like father, mother, and their children, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins, all living in the same household.
