  • Siddartha was born a prince in present day Nepal as a prince. A fortune teller predicted that he was going to be a king or a religious leader. His father wanted him to be a king.
  • You should live in self denial.
  • No, you should learn Hinduism.
  • Siddartha was protected by his father from anything sad. When Sid left the palace guards would make sad, sick, or poor people get off the roads. Sid also married and had a son.

  • One day, Siddartha went out with no guards an saw four things. The first was a old man. The second was a sick person and the third a dead man. The final thing that Siddartha saw was a holy man with no possessions.
  • I reached Enlightenment. You should too.
  • Wow, that's amazing!
  • Siddartha decides to leave his family to learn about religion. First, he studied with the Hindu gurus about Hinduism. Then, he left them and joined ascetics or people that live in self denial.
  • Then, Siddartha decided to no live either of these lives. Instead he started meditating under a fig tree. Eventually, after 49 days of meditation, he reached enlightenment.
  • Once Siddartha reached enlightenment he became the Buddha. Buddha went around telling people about his journey to enlightenment. Once Buddha had many followers he taught some to be teachers. Finally he did at age 80.
