Storyboard Text

  • The Intolerable Acts are the way that the British Government punished the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. The acts are Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act, Quartering Act, and the Quebec Act.
  • These are the Patriot colonists, they believed on that the colonies should be independent. They argued that they did not belong to any other country other than to the United States, and they should have freedom.
  • These are the Loyalists, they believed that the colonies should stay with the British Government. One of the reasons many believed this was because they thought that if they were freed they would be economically affected with out the British system.
  • These are the neutralists, they are the colonists that did not support neither the Loyalists nor the Patriots.
  • This is the Continental Army the first US army. The Continental army was created by the Second Continental Congress. The Continental Army fought against the British for the independence of the United States.
  • This is George Washington, he was the Chief Commander of the Continental Army. When the war finished he became the first president of the United States, he served two terms.
