Storyboard Text

  • I, Woodrow Wilson, propose that we form a league that aims to  demilitarize all nations from war and helps promote international cooperation.
  • Georges Clemenceau: Let this League of Nations have an international court that resolves disputes. Military force should always be left as a last resort.
  • Versailles, January 1919
  • Alsace-Lorraine should be returned to France, and our border should be extended to Rhineland. The threat of a German attack is still too great!
  • I think you are asking too much, but we should demilitarize Germany. They will be denied the right to an army. The Saar Valley will have 15 years to think about joining either Germany or France.
  • Germany has yet to pay for starting the war. They should be the ones to pay all of the war costs. Everybody agrees on this point.
  • Tch, I suppose nothing else can be done about the hatred you harbor towards the German people.
  • The League of Nations will be formed to promote international cooperation. The Saar Valley will come under our control for 15 years. Germany will be demilitarized. They will pay all the war costs - $33 Billion.
  • Versailles, May 1919
