Violet is the main character in this story. She is a very intelegent, caring, responsible, and protective sister. She is consistently inventing new things with her incredible mind along with caring for her siblings at the same.
"It's all gonna be alright Violet, we'll find a way to escape from this horrible man.
Violet was forced to marry Count Olaf so he could take control of the fortune. He set up a whole play with audience members and actors who had no idea that Count Olaf and Violet were getting legally getting married. When they got to the point of the marrige, everyone found out that the marrige was suppost to be real and started panicking. Violet although used her non dominent hand to sign the paper so therefore it does not count as an official signature. Then the important man with warts all over his face (one of Count Olafs assistants) switched the lights off and Violet went to try and turn them on again. Count Olaf whispered in her ear, "I'll get my hands on your fortune if it's the last thing I do." When the lights turned on, him and his assistents vanished in thin air.
One of the main conflicts in this story was when Violet had to go up a tower with a hand-made grappling hook to save her sister who was dangling in a birdcage outside of the only window of the tower. When Violet got to the top of the tower she got caught by the hook handed man who was another one of Count Olaf's assistants. She and her brother who was brought up by the hook handed man were to sit in the tower until the big play. During the play though, Count Olaf had promised that if Violet married him, he would let Sunny out, which he did when he walkie talkied the hook anded man to release her and bring her to the theature!
