France spends most of their money on wars and now they cannot pay for food and cannot afford income. France's problem was not that they spent so much it is that they decided to raise too little in the taxes. king Louise had taken over a government that was almost bankrupt and spent the money recklessly on wars.
storming the bastille-stage 4
king Louise was forced to held a meeting with the estate generals first estate, second estate, and the third estate. the king wanted them to vote for rising up the taxes but the estates did not want to loose the privileges that they already have. they nor did the estates or the commoners wanted to pay more for taxes without them getting something in return.
1789-national assembly -stage 5
the third estate did not want to meet as a separated group from the others so they left there meeting area and decided to go to the places tennis court were they declared themselves as the the national assembly. the members also sworn the oath of the tennis court promising that they would write a constitutions for France.
the end of king Louise and Marie Antoinette-stage 5
members of the national assembly hoped that the king would be on their side, king Louise was hesitant at first but later on did end of siding with the nobles. the day of independence people were nervous on whats going to happen to the soldiers protecting the Bastille. at the Bastille the national assembly sent a group to the place and go to kill the governor, soldiers and other important people there at the time
One the was over later in august the national assembly passed the "declaration of the rights of man" the document had the principles of the revolution the assembly declared that all people should have rights of freedom and equality. the words that were published in the declaration "liberty, equality, fraternity" became one of the most important cry from the revolution
After the storm of the Bastille king Louis tried to flee the country to join the nobles but he got stopped by Germany which lead him to be returned to Paris. after that the king was convicted of treason or attempting to over throw the government. most of the majority of the court decided to execute king Louis for his actions. the next day he faced the guillotine he was executed in front of many people. as well his wife Marie Antoinette was executed the same way a month later
