I don't Know about you but this doesn't seem to be the way to Virginia.
The colonists turned to their own environment. They would do fishing, timber and whaling for their economy.

In November of the same year (1620) the pilgrims decided to write a plan for their colony. It was named the Mayflower Compact. They agreed to make laws that insured ''the general good of the colony.'' They promised to work together to make the colony succeed.
The Pilgrims and Puritans came to America for Religious Freedom.
The Pilgrims planed to go and settle in Virginia, but a storm blew them off course and landed in the shore of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
