At age 12, Ben agreed to work for his brother as a printer.
When he was 17, he broke his apprenticeship with his brother. Then, he went to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and worked there as a printer.

Benjamin Franklin Ben Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston Massachusetts. Ben played an important role because he was one of the five people to draft The Declaration of Independence. He also helped secure The Treaty of Paris. Interesting facts: His dad was a candle maker. He was the 15th child out of 17 children. He once said ´´ Well done is better than well said´´. He was the first Postmaster General of The United States.
