  • Greece Before The War
  • What began the Persian War
  • We need to expand our army as much as we can
  • The Ionian Revolt
  • Now since the Greeks wanted to help out we are going to attack them
  • Greece was a collection of independent city-states
  • The Battle of Marathon 
  • The Persian Empire is expanding west and has its eyes set on Greece
  • Battle of Thermopylae
  • ATTACK!!!!!!!!!
  • Ionian citizens attempt to get rid of their Persian ruler.  They ask the Greek city-states for help, then the Persian ruler wants to punish the Greek people.
  • Battle of Salamis
  • The war is over we the Greeks have one
  • The Persian invade Greece by land and decide to attack Athens by sea.  After most of the Persians left on boat,  the Greeks attack the remaining Persians and win!  A Greek then sets off running to the Athens to sharethe good news.  This victory gave Greece lots of confidence.  
  • Now since we have arrived we are going to end the greeks
  • 300 Spartans head off the Persian army on a small strip of land called Thermopylae.
  • Yes WE WON!!!!!!!!
  • The Greeks trick the Persians to sail into a narrow pass between an island and Athens. The Persian ships are too large and the Greeks in their lighter,  faster ships defeat them. Xerxes retreats back to Asia and the Persian Wars were over.
