- YAY!
- To start, The British had achieved some victories in south carolina
- The patriots weren't happy about this and wanted to weaken British troops so Major General Nathaniel Greene ordered the division of several groups of men, which were easier to feed and manage.
- (just pretend that's a thousand men)
- In this division, Brigadier General Daniel Morgan got a total of around a thousand men to attack a British fort.
- In response, General Charles Cornwallis sent Banastre Tarleton and 1100 british troops to counter the colonists and capture Morgan.
- Oh heck
- The patriots ran to a river near some cowpens (hence the name) and braced for the oncoming british force
- Get ready! Don't Die!
- Using clever tactics to confuse the British, eventually the patriots won and only lost around a hundred men whereas the British lost around eight hundred. Tarleton escaped alive, yet the colonists still won.
