Hello, my name is Ms. Ross. Today I will be talking about digital footprint. This is something many of you have probably not heard of. You might find certain parts of the term familiar but, all together, aren't too sure. That is why I'm here to make sure you are informed about the consequences of your decisions on what social media can do.
The definition of digital footprint is the trail you leave behind whenever you do anything online. There is this popular saying that goes, Once you put something on the internet it's there forever. I hope this saying will help you take this more seriously. There are 2 types of digital footprints; passive and active. Passive is basically when your digital footprint is being tracked without you knowing. Active is when you are purposely sharing information. Such as posting pictures, writing comments, etc.
Lets post this.

Great question! Well actually digital footprint can affect your future and your reputation. There is something called positive digital footprint. Having positive digital footprint is something of utmost importance. Let me explain it to you. If you apply for a job and they search your name in a search engine only to find out that you have made negative comments on someone's post,it can effect your chances of getting the job.
Lets say you have a positive digital footprint. For instance, you may have written blogs about your hobbies or started a fundraising activity for something important. All of these can impact the decision of your future employer.
You get the job!
Digital footprint can say a lot about who someone is as a person and I believe taking their actions on the internet is definitely something to take into consideration when deciding if someone is fit for a job or not.
