Pedro's voyage was paid for by the Portugal. After De Gama came back 13 other ships headed out for India. The ships were commanded by a nobleman named Pedro. A . Cabral. Pedro wanted to go the way De Gama went, but he went so far west that he ended up in Brazil. This is important because he clis king and kept going to India and returned .

Spain funded Amerigo Vespucci's voyage. Vespucci sailed along the coast of South America. This was important because he realized that South America was a separate continent, and not part of Asia.
