  • Japanese Colonization 
  • DANG ROOSEVELT! Back at it again w/ the white vans.
  • U.S. Oil
  • Japan will have NO more oil.
  • Pearl Harbor
  • Japan wanted to expand because they needed more materials, so they attacked China to get materials.
  • Japanese Point of View
  • The U.S stopped supplying oil to Japan. Without oil, the Japanese army machines were put to a halt.
  • FDR Speech
  • This means war!
  • On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. The destroyed our navy and killed thousands of Americans. The Japanese did warn us that they would attack but, we did not listen.
  • West Virginia
  • Many Japanese citizens were angry because the attack made them look bad. Some had to start wearing lables so they wouldn't be harassed.
  • The president stated what the Japanese did to us. They didn't understand why though because we were friends with Japan. He stated that we declair war w/ Japan on December 8, 1941.
  • The Japanese sank the West Virginia. It took 7 hits. But when it sank it was balanced so it went straight to the bottom. They were near a dock so they were able to rebuild the West Virginia.
