Born in 1757, Marie Joseph Paulyves Roch Gilbert Du Montier Marquis De Lafayette grew up in a castle in France and left home at a early age. He fought bravely in several wars, was a hero in two countries, and was a patriot.
In 1777 He transported French soldiers by ship and they set sail to America at the age of 18. It was important because the French needed to get to America and fight and he was a leader by doing this.
In 1777 Lafayette and his soldiers went into war and won their first battle against the Brittish but they had no food and barley any clothing and no shelter. Lafayette was a leader and made a plan to win against the Brittish.
in 1778 Lafayette bought clothing, munitions, food, and shelter for his troops and He took leadership by being a leader and buying the needs for his soldiers and once they were all healed up they went into battle again.
In 1779 Lafayette became a military officer and eventually the French allied with the Americans. He also became a major general and we should remember him for his leadership and helpfulness with supplies.
