In the book, "The Man to Send Rain Clouds", the beginning starts off right away with the tension and the conflict, that being that Teofilo is dead. Two brother-in-laws discover him and are heartbroken, as well as the rest of the people that knew him, but instead of them going to tell the priest they wait to do so. Meanwhile, everyone wants them to go tell the priest so that Father Paul can sprinkle the holy water on the grave and help him pass on peacefully into the afterlife to bring them rain and good fortunes. Leon finally gains the courage to go to the church to tell Father Paul about the misfortunes, Leon expects Father Paul to be upset at him for not telling him right away, and at first Father Paul is extremely disappointed. Leon is about to leave the church whenever he gets stopped by Father Paul who finally agrees to visit Teofilo's grave and sprinkle it with the holy water. After the grave is sprinkled with the holy water, the people feel at ease and a rainstorm greets them to flourish the land below.
Teofilo, an old man, is reported as missing in New Mexico. While two brother-in-laws are working, they discover Teofilo.
Teofilo is dead and everyone around wants Teofilo to pass on and bring them the rain clouds. The only problem is that the two brothers are too scared to go tell the priest.
They decide that they want to finally have a ceremony to honour him into the after life by sprinkling the grave with holy water. Leon goes to the church to talk to the priest.
The priest is upset that no one had told him about the death of Teofilo right away. Leon is about to leave the church when Father Paul stops him and agrees to help him let Teofilo pass on.
Leon and Father Paul head out to go to the grave of Teofilo. The priest and Leon prepare to pour the holy water on the grave.
The holy water is sprinkled onto the grave and Leon feels a lot better about the whole situation. At the end of the day, they receive a thunderstorm.
