  • I am doing much better now. When I was well enough to move, Saul went out and found a new room for us to live in. "We cannot stay any longer in this shed," he said. (pg 21)
  • Rifka's family got Typhus and her and Saul lived in the little shed while the rest of her family were in the hospital. " 
  • I don't think I want to touch her hair, but i want to show compassion

  • Rifka could not go to america because she got ringworm from the lady on the bus so she had to stay back in Antwerp
