I agree, however, I think that this act could be bad for the citizens of the United States because it violates their constitutional rights. Also, by punishing the criminals, you could also be convicting innocent people of crimes they didn´t commit.
I think that the Patriot Act is important and should be established because it provides tougher penalties for terrorists.
You make a good point when you mention that the Patriot Act makes it hard for terrorists
to enter the country but this allows the government to spy on people! What if people want privacy? What if they aren´t terrorists?
I see what you mean, but the Patriot Act is good
because it makes it harder for terrorists to enter the United States and intern prevents more accidents like 9-11 from happening.
When you talk about those who have nothing to hide, do you refer
to the citizens who are acused without soild evidence to convict them?
The people who want privacy shouldn´t be worried because if the investigators can´t find any solid evidence,
they stop investigating. In short terms, those who have nothing to hide should not be worried.
Ava, what about the fact that the government condones wiretapping and video survailence?
Those citizens don´t exist because the evidence that the government has collected clearly shows that the citizen
is a terrorist. This protects American people from being exposed to terrorist threats.
