Storyboard Text

  • At the age of 13, Joan of Arc began to hear voices while she prayed. She believed that they were the voices of saints.
  • I hear voices... are these the ones of saints?
  • She claimed that the voices told her that God had chosen her to lead the army in the war between France and England.
  • The voices say God has chosen me to lead the army.
  • It seemed impossible, so the French Prince tested her by hiding in the crowd. Joan knew him instantly and convinced him to give her the army she needed to defeat the English.
  • Found you!
  • Joan and her army win their first victory at Orleans and continued to drive the English from France
  • Joan safely escorts the prince to the cathedral at Reims and he becomes crowned King Charles VII of France
  • After the war, Joan was accused of heresy, tried, and sentenced to death by burning. Joan became a national hero in France and was declared a Saint in 1920.
