  • Assyrian Empire
  • I'm out. I have kids to pick up! I forgot!
  • We retreat! or our kids, of course!
  • Retreat? What does that mean?
  • Attack!!!!!
  • Sargon was the first ruler of the Akadian Empire. He was a strong king and a very skilled general. He built empire through effective military strategies. His soldiers were in formations, these formations were having the soldiers  with the shields in the front, and the soldiers with the spears in the back. This formation works very well.
  • Neo-Babylonian Empire
  • We are just kids!!
  • Future Slave Waiting Room! Meet Your Master!
  • Perfect!
  • The people thrived under Hammurabi. He worked to unite his people. He also helped to connect Babylonians of all social structures.  The people traded grain, woven cloth, wood, gold, silver, precious gems,  and live stock. The arts were important too. Slaves had rights
  • Hammurabi
  • The Sun God wants ME!
  • All hail King Hammurabi!!!
  • So, he died due to your building?
  • They were war-like people who created the next great empire in Mesopotamia. They lived North of Babylon. They rose to power in 900 B.C.E.. The rulers started an army ready for war. In battle, they perfected in riding horses and using iron weapons. The rulers feared their own cruelty. Their greatest accomplishments were their newer weapons and war strategies.
  • Hammurabi's Code
  • Neo means new, neo Babylonian empire means new Babylonian empire. Their most famous king was Nebuchadnezzar the second. He was a ruthless military leader. He reigned from 605 B.C.E -561 B.C.E.. He drove the Egyptians out of Syria. He also conquered part of Canaan  , which was the home of the Jews.  The Jews that rebelled against him were sent to prisons in Babylon, or were slaves. there were inner and outer walls within the kingdom. They were very large.
  • I, Sir Miller, Promise to always fed the slaves when hard work has been done. And to whip them whenever needed! I, King  Nebuchadnezzar the second, am allowing Sir Miller to whip, hit, not feed Penny Cracer and Joey Carcer when needed. I also allow them to be treated badly science them and their parents rebelled.
  •  Hammurabi ruled Babylon. He claims his authority from the Sun God, Shamash. (everyone believed in the sun god) He named Babylon the capital of his empire. He was best known for his code. He also was the 6th king to the Babylonian  Dynasty. Conquered  cities like Elam, Larisa, Eshima, and Mari.
  • What is the name of the capital?
  • Babylon!
  • The punishments were like " an eye for and eye, and a tooth for a tooth." Detailed covered everyday situations. It didn't treat ALL people fairly. An example of the code would be if  house or building that was poorly built and it crashes ( collapses) on the owner and kills him, the builder would die. But, if the owner's son was killed instead,  the builder's son would be sent to  death instead. This is fair, but unfair. It does not say anything about the wife or daughter!
  • DEATH!!
  • NOOOOOO!!
  • Yes!
