• I guess I have to explain the class to you. I will teach you everything we have learnt so far. So, we are currently learning about compound inequalities.
• Okay everyone, today we have﻿ new student. His name's Johnny.
• ﻿Compound Inequailties﻿
• Eh, Ms. Sumner. Besides from him, Im the only student here. Everyone else went on a fieldtrip, they left without me.
• And remember kids, alway wear ur seatbelts.
• ﻿Compound Inequailties﻿
• So you aren't going to do anything about it?﻿
• No, I have better things to do. Sarah, you take care of it. I'll be rigth back.
• Great, I was going to give another class about compound inequalities, but if you're only two students I don't have to tea﻿ch you stuffs.
• Okay, thanks.
• So lets say we have the following equation: ﻿ - 2 ≤ x - 6 ≤ 8
• - 2 ≤ x - 6 and x - 6 ≤ 8
• - 2 ≤ x - 6 ≤ 8
• Ther first thing you have to do is re-write it as﻿: - 2 ≤ x - 6 and x - 6 ≤ 8  So now we have two equations.
• Now we are going to work with the equation to the rigth. We need to get rid of number six so that the letter x is alone. To do that we are going to add  6  to both -2 and -6. That leaves us with...
• +6       +6
• - 2 ≤ x - 6 and x - 6 ≤ 8
• ﻿4 ≤ x
• - 2 ≤ x - 6 ≤ 8
• ﻿Is it ﻿4 ≤ x ?
