  • What are the parts of vernier caliper?
  • The parts include: inner and outer jaws, clamp, tail, the main and vernier scale.
  • Interesting!Do you know what the SD and range of the Vernier Caliper is ?
  • Of course! The SD of the main scale is 1mm where as the SD of the vernier scale is 0.1mm as it is more precise.
  • The range for each vernier caliper varies between 0-12 cm.
  • They are used to gain precise reading on the size of small objects!!
  • Of course it can!!
  • HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!
  • Could it measure my legos??
  • What about an engineer?
  • Do you know of any jobs that would require the use of a vernier caliper?
  • That is a great example!!
  • How do you read the vernier caliper??
  • 1.First we take a reading of the main scale.2. Next we take a reading of the vernier scale by looking at the two lines that line up perfectly.3. And finally we add both measurements to get our final measurement.
  • Firstly, the reading on the main scale is 5.1.Secondly, the vernier scale reads 0.02.Lastly, we must add them together meaning our final read is 5.12 mm.
