I've met my father before, he even let me drive the sun chariot!
I doubt it!
I don't know where to go...
I have to be dreaming!
Phaethon and Epaphus raced down a cliff and got caught up talking about their dad's. Talking trash, Phaethon lies about meeting his father and riding the sun chariot.
I'll show you Epaphus!!
Phaethon goes to prove his lies to Epaphus. He looked for the way to get to his father. Time passed, he was hungry and exhausted. He was also lost.
What is going on here?!
One of Apollo's spy birds finds Phaethon. Flys back to tell Apollo, he wants to see his son to see if he cares so the bird takes Phaethon back to Apollo on a rug. Apollo promises anything so Phaethon chooses to ride the sun chariot by himself.
Phaethon chooses to drive the sun chariot too close to the earth because his pride got in the way and he wanted to prove everyone he was driving it.
Phaethon burns the earth when he went too close but froze it when he went too far. Zeus finally noticed it wasn't Apollo driving the sun chariot.
Zeus strikes Phaethon down with a lighting bolt killing him instantly.
