Storyboard Text

  • You need to go to the hospital to get that checked out, I think you might have rabies!
  • Oh my God this sickly dog just bit me!!
  • at this point the virus begins to multiply in the spinal cord or brain, so what kind of symptoms have you been having?
  • Ive been having bad anxiety, hallucinations, Insomnia, and my lower legs  are paralysis, and a excessive amount of saliva production!!!
  • Rabies is caused by a number of lyssaviruses including the rabies virus and Australian bat lyssavirus. The rabies virus is the type species of the Lyssavirus genus, in the family Rhabdoviridae, order Mononegavirales.
  • In unvaccinated humans, rabies is almost always fatal after neurological symptoms have developed. Vaccination after exposure, PEP, is highly successful in preventing the disease if administered promptly, in general within 6 days of infection. Begun with little or no delay, PEP is 100% effective against rabies.
  • So there is no doubt in mind that this is Rabies
  • So what exactly is rabies?
  •  The virus is spread through the saliva of infected animals. Infected animals can spread the virus by biting another animal or a person.
  • Yes besides the traditional Rabies vaccine  you will also get Poliovirus Vaccine Inactivated (Human Diploid Cell). I have to tell you though most people don't make it.
  • So is there a vaccine?
