The first time that I moved, I was in third grade.
We sat down in the living room, and they told us that we might move. In the next four months, I prayed constantly that we wouldn't.
The summer of fourth grade, we left my small mountain town of Big Bear, California, where I had been since I was three.
We didn't go anywhere, immediately. We just left our house in Big Bear one day and said goodbye to our friends and family.
We lived everywhere and nowhere that summer. Our trailer. My aunt's house, where we would swim in the pool. Some nights I would go to my mom and cry, because I missed my friends.
At the end of that summer, we moved to Redlands, California. We lived in an old house with no air conditioning, that had a slight rat problem.
I heard that she moved because everyone hated her...teacher's pet.
Haley is my VERY favorite!
The friends that I chose ended the year gossiping about me. I never knew why.
Three weeks into the next school year, my parents sat us down and told us that we would move again. I left school that day after my teacher called the nurse. I had walked in front of the projector and the light had shocked my eyes, so there was never really anything wrong...but my parents came to pick me up anyway.
Haley, what's wrong?
Mrs. King, I'm seeing spots...I think I might faint.
We moved two weeks later and I didn't go back to school and say goodbye to the new friends I had started to make.
More new homes, more new people, and more new schools. I wasn't sure how I felt about it.
