"We did dance, uncle, and when you leaped out of the bush so suddenly, Betty was frightened and then she fainted. And there's the whole of it."
Abigail, Betty, and the other girls were dancing around, and practicing dark magic with Tituba. Abigail doesn't tell the full story to her uncle.
"She made me do it! She made Betty do it!" Abigail accuses Tituba of witchcraft, and blames her for putting Betty in a deep sleep. Abigail also blames Tituba for making them dance and drink chicken blood.
"Oh, my God! God help me! Quaking with fear, mumbling to himself through his sobs, he goes to the bed and gently takes BETTY's hand. Betty. Child. Dear child. Will you wake, will you open up your eyes! Betty, little one .."
Rev. Parris find out that his daughter is laying in bed very ill and he lays in bed with her. People find out that Betty is ill and they think that it is because of witchcraft.
