I'm Sanger Rainsford of New York, I feel off a yacht. I am hungry.
Character Trait 2
And why not
But, you can't mean
Standing here is General Zaroff, one of the main characters in the story, "Th Most Dangerous Game". "The Most Dangerous Game" takes place in the Caribbean Sea and takes place on Ship Trap Island. General Zaroff is polite, crazy, and smart.
Character Trait 2 (cont)
My dear fellow, have i not told you i always mean what i say about hunting?
Zaroff has proper manners and is very polite to others. In the text it says," In a cultivated voice marked by a slight accent that gave it added precision and deliberateness, he (Zaroff) said: "It is a very great pleasure to welcome Mr. Sanger Rainsford, the celebrated hunter, to my home." This is showing polite manners and proper vocabulary which makes him sound fancier and more polite.
Character Trait 3
Rainsford, if you are within the sound of my voice, as I suppose you are, let me congratulate you.
Zaroff is a crazy person. We find out that Zaroff kills people for fun. In the story, it tells us that Zaroff got tired of hunting animals so started hunting people. This is an action that has effected many others.
Character Trait 3 (cont)
I will not loose my nerve. I will not.
General Zaroff then tells Rainsford that he is going to be the one hunted. This is another example why Zaroff is crazy and this helps us relate to it more because we almst feel close to Rainsford because he is the main character.
You don't mean...
Zaroff is a smart man because he knows his way around the whole island and tries to manipulate Rainsford.
Zaroff smiles when he looks at the tree where Rainsford is in and walks away. Him smiling leads us to think that Zaroff has spotted Rainsford and is making up a plan to catch him in his head. Also, Zaroff knows all the traps that Rainsford made and knows them right away. This leads us to think that Zaroff is a very intelligent man.
