- In the town of Weed, Lennie snatches a girl's dress and refuses to let go. She becomes terrified and accuses him of raping her.

- Before heading to the property, George and Lennie set up camp beside a river. Lennie conceals a dead mouse from George that he murdered by caressing it too hard while he's there. George makes him hand over the dead mouse.
