Storyboard Text

  • I have no engagement; come
  • Verbal Irony
  • My friend, no; It is not the engagement, but the severe cold with which I perceive you are afflicted
  • Situational Irony
  • Yes, for the love of God!
  • Come, we will go back; your health is precious... Besides, there is Luchesi
  • Dramatic Irony
  • *cough cough cough*
  • One example of verbal irony is when Montresor calls Fortunato his friend. He doesn't really mean that because he is trying to kill him.
  • Foreshadowing #1
  • One example of situational irony is when Montresor starts to build the wall because when he first mentioned killing Fortunato, that is not the way I thought he would do it. i thought he would just poison the wine.
  • Foreshadowing #2
  • One example of dramatic irony is when Montresor is taking Fortunato into the catacombs and keeps saying that he will just ask Luchesi to come taste the wine, he is playing Fortunato but he doesn't know it.
  • Foreshadowing #3
  • The first example of foreshadowing is Montresor wants to know if Fortunato has somewhere to be and if so he would not want to bring him to the catacombs because someone would wonder where he is.
  • I have no engagement; come
  • Another example of foreshadowing is when Montresor is leading Fortunato through the catacombs and Fortunato starts coughing violently and says he will not die of a cough, Montrsor says, ¨True-true.¨ This foreshadow he will die in another way.
  • True-true
  • Finally, the last example of foreshadowing is Fortunato´s costume. He is dressed as a jester, representing Montresor´s fool in the story. As he walks through the catacombs, he becomes more and more drunk and pathetic fulfilling the role of a clown.
