Hi. My name is Isaac Newton and today I will be telling you about the scientific method I used for gravity. My greatest discovery was the law of gravity. Come on. Let's go inside and I'll tell you
The biggest question I had was what kept the moon in its orbit a round the Earth. I wondered if the moon was in motion, then why didn't it go in a straight line into the solar system?
Now one day, I saw an apple fall off of a tree. I thought maybe the same force that was pulling on the apple was the same for the moon. My hypothesis was that the force that was pulling down on the apple was also pulling the moon.
Now onto the experiments I did. I had stated the law of gravity in a simple formula. All the physical objects had a force of attraction between them. I soon figured out that the strength depends on the masses of objects.
I recorded down all of the experiments I did and I soon found out that the moon was trapped in the Earth's orbit. The apple I saw had a very small amount of mass and it was also close to Earth. The force that pulled the apple down was called gravity.
In conclusion, my hypothesis turned out to be correct. There was actually a force that was pulling on the moon. This force was called gravity. In 1687, I published a book called the "Principia". This book talks about the three laws of motion and the law of gravity.
