  • Welcome! This is the Tibet-Qinghai Plateau and it is located in The Outer part of China. As you can see there are many mountains so it is very dry and cold. In fact this is where Mt. Everest is and many other tall mountains. It covers a lot of land. In fact it covers about a quarter of China! Also, there are two major rivers that flow here. It's very interesting to see!

  • This is the Taklimakan Desert. The name Taklimakan actually means,"Once you go in, you will not come out.” Legend has it thatbeneath where I stand is about 300 cities and two armies though we cannot findthem because there are many sand dunes and sandstorms causing it to be about 600 feet underground.

  • This is the Gobi Desert. Most of the floor here is sand, ton of rocks, and small bushes scattered around.

  • This is the Northeastern Plains. Here there are two major rivers that flow here. There also is a lot of grass good for animals such as sheep and horses. In the summer it is very warm though, in the winter it can be very dry and cold.

  • This is the North China Plains though it is also known as the “Land of the Yellow Earth” because of the limestone that is scattered around. Here you can find the longest river in the world called Hang he. It’s very dark because of the mud that flows through it. The mud helps keep the grass very fertile.

  • This is the Chang Jiang Basin. Here this is where the actual longest riveris. In fact Chand Jiang means “Long River”. It is very warm here and there aremany rainforests here good for planting crops.
