  • SUGAR
  • The French & Indian war started in 1756 and ended in 1763. The colonist wanted to settle in the Ohio River Valley and live with the Indians who lived there. After the war Great Britain taxed the colonist to pay for the war and the colonist came together for the first time.
  • The Stamp Act (1765)
  • The Proclamation of 1763 was to prevent wars with the Indians. The colonist were mad because they fought a war to go there. Then were told they were not allowed to go there, they ignored the law and went there anyway.
  • The Quartering Act (1765)

  • The Sugar act was in 1764. After the French & Indian war taxes for sugar went up. So people were smuggling sugar. George Grenville hoped that if he lowered taxes the colonist would stop smuggling sugar.

  • The stamp Act was in 1765. The Stamp Act was that all printed items were taxed. The British were happy because they got more money, The Americans were mad because they were the ones effected.

  • The Quartering act was in 1765. The Quartering act was were the British went to America and people were forced to give them a home, They had to give then housing, food, beverages, candles and bedding.

  • Forming the sons of liberty happened in 1765. Samuel Adams was one of the first American leaders to disagree with the Parliament taxes. inspired by James Otis he formed "The Sons of Liberty".This group became responsible for extreme acts.
