During the revolutionary war, good leadership helped the colonist start to win. The strategies given by General George Washington helped the army win battles and gain confidence.
As a result of colonist fighting for becoming independent, the colonist began to have patriotism. They began to support the cause and fight for what was right. They believed that being American was right.
THERE IS NONE!
Can I get some food?
Since the revolution took place in the colonies, the colonist had the upper hand. They knew all of the information of the land. They knew that best spots for resting and where to hide and attack.
Weak Central Government
The British Army was massive. The amount of people in the Continental Army couldn't compare. The colonist were outnumbered and were most likely not able to fight agaisnt the British.
As the times got harder and harder, the colonist didn't know how to ration their food. They ran out of food quickly and didn't have enough money to buy or get new food. Ammo was also gone quickly.
Since the colonies were just starting to become independent, they had no way of funding the army. Since they were technically still apart of England, they couldn't tax the colonist. They were living on the money they had and what the colonist would give them.
