Prop 7 is the authorization of California to decide whether or not we change the Daylight Savings time period. The Daylight savings Time Act of 1949 was put into place to save energy during World War ll. This act requires people to set their clocks forward one hour every spring and one hour back every fall.
Every year it takes people some time to adjust to the confusing time change. It is statistically proven that there are more car accidents the day after due to the switch in our sleeping schedules.
Most people don't enjoy Daylight savings time and although it was resourceful during the war, many find it pointless now. It deprives us of sleep and people cannot function properly throughout the next couple of days.
Californians should vote YES on Prop 7. A yes would allow the legislature to either change or eliminate daylight savings. Daylight Savings Time is a tradition that complicates our sleep schedule and ability to function properly in the upcoming days.
