  • ROAD TO THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
  • One of the British government's laws was that colonists couldn't live on the West side of the Appalachian mountains
  •  The Proclomation of 1763
  • Why can't we live on the West side of the mountains?
  • The colonists had to provide a home and basic needs for British soldiers if they came to a colonists house.
  • The Quartering Act of 1765
  • We are British Soldiers and it is your job to provide a home for us.
  • The British Government had a large debt to pay, that they couldn't afford, so they taxed the colonists and the colonists gave them higher taxes even though it wasn't their debt.
  • The Stamp Act of 1765
  • Why are these taxes extremely high?
  • No one can afford them!
  • The Boston Tea Party of 1773

  • The colonists are upset about being paid higher taxes.  Throwing the tea overboard is the way they are giving payback to the British government.
  • In conclusion... The British Government made many unfair laws that the colonists didn't approve of. The colonists did what they could, and it turned out to be many acts of war.
