The month of Ramadan has recently begun
Me and my family partake in Ramadan to get closer to Allah, the only God, and strengthen our faith
Salah (prayer) is an important part of everyday life and especially during Ramadan. Prayer is used to worship and speak to Allah.
(Here we see Selia and her mother praying )
During Ramadan we have to fast (sawm) for a month. I can't drink or eat during the day, but I still must go on with daily life. I get really hungry at school sometimes..
Thanks to Ramadan I know how difficult it must be for the poor. By having sympathy, I can easily give to those in need and partake in Zakah (almsgiving).
I hope one day I can participate in Hajj (pilgrimage). I know that it's a long journey to Mecca and you are required to fast . We have to circle the holy structure 7 times! I know that Ramadan will prepare me for the journey.
Here we reach the end of Ramadan.
Now Ramadan is over! I can finally eat and celebrate Eid al-Fit (end of Ramadan). This is a highlight of the year.
