The Red Death had spread through the country faster than any disease ever known. "Blood was its mark." There would be sharp pains, dizziness, bleeding through the skin, and then death. The sickness lasted no more than half an hour.
After half of Prince Prospero's people died he gathered a thousand of his friends to live with him in one of his palaces to get away from the Red Death.
There were six rooms with six different colors; blue, purple, green, yellow, white, violet, and black with red windows.
"Before the clock was quiet again, many in the crowd saw that in the first room, the blue room, there was a masquerader who had not been seen before.
The prince chases the mysterious masquerader through the rooms with a dagger.
The strange masquerader turned out to be the Red Death and killed the Prince and his guest.
