Now can anyone tell me what are algebraic identities?
Dear Students, today we will be doing the chapter algebraic expressions and their identities
They are also used for the factorization of polynomials.
The algebraic equations which are valid for all values of variables in them are called algebraic identities.
There ae 4 standard identities
Identity I: (a + b)2 = a2 + 2ab + b2Identity II: (a – b)2 = a2 – 2ab + b2
Identity III: a2 – b2= (a + b)(a – b)Identity IV: (x + a)(x + b) = x2 + (a + b) x + ab
Very Good!!These identities are-
Ma'am, can I try?
Now lets do an example: Find the product of (x + 1)(x + 1) using standard algebraic identities.
(x + 1)(x + 1) can be written as (x + 1)2. Thus, it is of the form Identity I where a = x and b = 1. So we have,(x + 1)2 = (x)2 + 2(x)(1) + (1)2 = x2 + 2x + 1
wow! correct.Good job children!!
Thank You so much ma'am.We had fun today!
This sure is an interisting chapter!Thank You
