Auckland Representative Hockey Team
Scene 2: How you felt?
I am useless and a disappointment to my family
Scene 3: Behaviour and Impact
She is so useless and can't even play hockey. The selectors were so biased, I should have definitely should.have been in the team.
She should not be saying these things. They are really mean.
Description: In this situation Patricia has found out that she have not made the Rep Hockey team that she was hoping to make. She is thinking about how she played during the trials and why she didn't get in, she is also thinking about the other girls and how they got in instead of her.
Scene 4: Self Awareness
I really shouldn't have said those mean things about the other girls. I was angry and envious of them and acted out of spite.
Feelings: Patricia feels very upset and like she is a disappointment, she feels like she is useless/worthless and that she is a disappointment. Along with these feelings she is frustrated and confused because she sees that there are people in the team that she believes are no better than her and even some people she thinks that she is better than. This has annoyed her and made her envious of the other girls.
Scene 5: Emotional Regulation
Taking a walk helps her calm down and clear her head so that she doesn't do/say anything that she regrets.
Behaviour: Here Patricia is feeling angry and envious of the other girls and is lashing out by gossiping. She is making rude and mean comments about the selectors and the other girls that are really nasty and disrespectful.
Scene 6: Fixing Relationships
I'm really sorry about what I said the other day about the other girls. I was envious and angry and I let my emotions get the worst of me.
Self Awareness: Here Patricia has realised that she gossiped to the other girls because she was upset and angry and she knows that what she did was cruel and immature.
Emotional Regulation: Next time that Patricia is angry or envious of someone around her she has decided that she will activate her best self. She will help herself do this by going for a walk to calm herself down and here she can think about what is going on. Next time that she feels like someone shouldnt be in a team or is envious of someone she is going to stop focusing on them and focus on herself, what she did and what she can work on. This will help manage these feelings of envy and help her be her best self.
Fixing Relationships: Here we see that patricia is apologising for what she said the other day. She has explained that she let her emotions get the better of her and that what she did was wrong.
