Martin Luther King´s main idea of the¨Letter from Birmingham Jail¨was, that the only reason that he was in Birmingham was becasue injustice was there, which King wanted to terminate.
Example of Logos ¨If I lived in a communist country today where certaain principles dear to the Christian faith are suppressed,,I believe I would openly advocate disobeying these anti-religious laws.¨What King means by saying is that, if there was another problem that needed to be resolved due to it being unjusticed,he would do it in a heartbeat.
Example of Ethos ¨It was practiced superbly by early Christians, who were willing to face hungry lions and the excruciating pain of the chopping blocks before submitting to certain unjust laws of the Roman Empire.¨In this quotation King compares himself to Christians, who were willing to fight for things they condemed unjust, which is exactly what MLK is doing, so why is it wrong if he does it.
Example of Patos ¨But when you have seen vicious mobs lynch your mothers and fathers at will and drown your sisters and brothers at whim;when you have seen hate-filled policement curse, kick, brutalie, and even kill your blacks mothers and sisters with impunity...¨In this section of MLK´s letter he describes the cruel wrong doings that had been forced upon blacks, wanting the reader to feel his pain and misery by using pathos.
List of important ¨Loaded Words¨ Harried,plagued,resentments,d egenerating,corrading despair,bleatness,¨Plunged into the abyss of unjustice¨,impanity,brutalize,vicious, poverty,inferiority,agonizing,distort ,stammering,bitterness,unconsciously, and humiliated.
