  • Ashoka the great was a emperor and created ashoka's hell which was a torture chamber for his prisoners
  • Later, a war broke out in his empire that left him defeated seeing all the dead bodies he told himself he needs to change to something more peaceful and never hurt a sole again.
  • The mighty emperor now transformed himself into a peaceful ruler and completely got involved into studying Buddhism and doctrines.
  • Post conversion, Ashokas son and daughter also studied Buddhism and were one of the main reasons it spread.
  • He used his studies of Buddhism to connect to other empires and not start wards with them.
  • After his death, his empire lasted 5 more decades and spread all over the India subcontinent
