Storyboard Text

  • Act 1 Scene 2
  • Oh Nerissa, I'm tired of this world!
  • Portia
  • You'd still be tired if you had nothing rather than wealth. The best way to be happy is to be in between.
  • Nerissa
  • Good Point.
  • You think it's easy? I'm a living daughter controlled by my dead father, and I cannot refuse or choose my husband.
  • It would be good if you applied it to your life.
  • Run through the list.
  • Your father was a good man, his idea was to have a game where suitors solve the riddle and choose the correct casket to win you. Do like any of the sutiors?
  • He is always frowning, I'd rather marry a skull with a bone in its mouth than these 2.
  • First, Prince from Naples.
  • All he talks about is his horse.
  • Then, Count Palatine.
  • He tries to out do everyone, you can't tell who he is.
  • How about the French Lord, Monsieur le Bon?
  • I have no opinion on him as we don't speak the same language.
  • What about Falconbridge, the young English baron?
  • What about his neighbor, the Scottish Lord?
  • I know, but please put a glass of wine on the incorrect casket, I'll do anything to not marry a drunk.
  • No, I will not marry him as he awful when he is drunk and not much better when hes sobering up in the morning!
  • But if he guesses correctly, you will reject him and will be breaking your fathers wishes.
