The French Revolution was a period of social upheaval that began in 1787 and ended in 1799. It's known to have completely change the relationship between the rulers and those they governed and to redefine the nature of political power.

There were many different factors that could've led to the French Revolution, but the most obvious was social inequality because of the estates system. The third estate, known as the peasants, were excluded from any political or social power. Another factor was that the third estate paid pretty much all taxes, when the other two estates were exempt from taxes even though they were more wealthy.

The Estate-General was meeting of the three estates in French society in 1789, Louis XVI tried to halt the actions of the third estate trying to become the national assembly and work with or without the other estates by commanding an end to the Estates-General and forcing each estate to separate.

The Tennis Court Oath was a pledge that was signed in the early days of the French Revolution and was an important revolutionary. It was an agreement to not disband until France had a constitution.

The Great Fear was a general panic that took place between July 22nd to August 6th 1789, at the start of the French Revolution. Rural unrest had been present in France since the worsening grain shortage of the spring, and, fueled by rumors of an aristocrats' "famine plot" to starve or burn out the third estate
