• TOA-> Tan= opposite/hypotenuse﻿
• SOH CAH TOA﻿
• In order to do SOH CAH TOA problems, you need to know what each part means﻿
• Great, now thats the basis to what you will need to know﻿. Lets try example
• ﻿SOH CAH TOA
• This is a special right triangle, and we need to find the length of side S.
• We can perform the pythagorean theorem. ﻿
• In order to do that, you need to first know the other side length. ﻿Since this is a right triangle..

• Not just yet, but yes that is a step. Our first step is to find side T. To do that,
• ﻿You need to find out which trig function you need to use by placing the "stick man"
• And since we need to find side T, we need to put the stick man with the angle it corresponds with which is angle 33
• ﻿Correct, we then find out which trig function helps us find side T
• ﻿T

• S﻿
• So we would use tangent, since T is our opposite with the corresponding angle being 33 degrees﻿
• So now we can do the pythagorean theorem which would give us side S being 17.9 units long﻿
• Correct, so the equation would be tan(33)=t/15 which gives us T=9.7﻿
• ﻿Correct! Now we can move on to the Laws of Sine's and Cosine's
• ﻿T= 9.7 units
